Lembas Bread

If you know great author J. R. R. Tolkien you might know about elvish bread called Lembas, also called waybread. The cakes are very nutritious, stay fresh for months when wrapped in leaves, and are used for sustenance on long journeys.

If you´d like to try baking Lembas yourself, here are ingredients:

  • 3 soup spoons of butter
  • 1 bigger egg
  • 4 soup spoons of sugar
  • 1 soup spoon of vanilla sugar ( or three drops of vanilla flavouring )
  • 1 tea spoon of cinnamon
  • 1 pocket of conditioner dough
  • 12 soup spoons of flour

Mix everything alltogehter and leave dough in fridge for a hour. After that spread the dough ( thickness 1 cm ) and start to core lembases. Bake at 220 degrees for abut 10 minutes.

Selfmade lembases are really tasty. When I baked them, they were gone in one hour. :)
